Source and evaluate reliable local suppliers and subcontractors Job Description We are looking for an experienced **Procurement Engineer – Construction** with strong knowledge of **construction materials, suppliers, subcontractors, purchasing, and project procurement** to join our team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate should have hands\-on experience in construction procurement and be able to coordinate closely with project, engineering, quantity surveying, and site teams to ensure materials and services are sourced and delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities * Manage the procurement of **construction materials, equipment, tools, and services** according to project requirements. * Review material specifications, BOQs, drawings, and project requirements to determine procurement needs. * Source and evaluate reliable **local suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors**. * Obtain, compare, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations. * Prepare **purchase orders, material requisitions, comparison sheets, and procurement documents**. * Monitor material prices, availability, lead times, and market conditions. * Coordinate with site and engineering teams regarding material requirements and delivery schedules. * Follow up with suppliers to ensure **timely delivery of materials to project sites**. * Evaluate supplier performance, quality, pricing, and delivery commitments. * Maintain and update approved supplier and vendor databases. * Coordinate material approvals and ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications. * Monitor procurement schedules and identify potential delays or shortages. * Assist in controlling procurement costs and achieving project budget targets. * Maintain accurate procurement records, quotations, purchase orders, and delivery documentation. Requirements * Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in **Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Procurement, or a related field**. * **3\+ years of experience** in procurement within the construction industry. * Strong knowledge of **construction materials, equipment, and building services**. * Good understanding of BOQs, drawings, specifications, and project requirements. * Experience dealing with **construction suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors**. * Strong negotiation and quotation comparison skills. * Knowledge of local construction suppliers and the **Bahrain market** is an advantage. * Good knowledge of procurement procedures and documentation. * Strong skills in **MS Excel and Microsoft Office**. * Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, and organizational skills. * **Must be currently available in Bahrain.** * **Immediate joiners are strongly preferred.** Important Candidates with a **strong construction procurement background** and hands\-on experience sourcing materials and services for active construction projects will be given priority.
