Job Summary We are looking for an experienced **Cost Control Engineer** with strong construction industry experience to manage project costs, budgets, quantities, commercial documentation, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring project expenditures, preparing cost estimates and BOQs, analyzing subcontractor quotations, tracking variations, and ensuring projects remain within approved budgets. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control procedures, quantity takeoff, procurement, and commercial management, with the ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings accurately. Key Responsibilities * Prepare accurate **cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and cost plans** based on architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. * Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and site measurements for construction works. * Monitor project costs, expenditures, commitments, and budget performance throughout the project lifecycle. * Analyze **material prices, labor rates, subcontractor quotations, and supplier proposals** to ensure competitive and accurate costing. * Assist with procurement activities, including supplier comparison, quotation evaluation, and vendor negotiations. * Review and monitor subcontractor and supplier costs against approved budgets and contractual requirements. * Assist in the preparation, administration, and management of **main contracts and subcontracts**. * Review contractual obligations, commercial clauses, payment terms, and cost\-related requirements. * Measure and value completed construction works for **interim payment applications**. * Assess and price **variations, change orders, and site instructions**. * Maintain accurate cost records and ensure all project financial information is properly documented. * Prepare **cost reconciliation statements** and identify cost variances, overruns, and potential savings. * Prepare and monitor **cash flow forecasts** based on project progress and expenditure. * Prepare monthly commercial and cost\-control reports for management review. * Assist with the preparation of **final accounts, claims, and commercial assessments**. * Track project commitments and compare actual costs against approved budgets and forecasts. * Coordinate with project managers, quantity surveyors, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding cost\-related matters. * Review drawings and specifications to identify scope requirements and ensure accurate quantity and cost calculations. Required Qualifications \& Skills * Strong experience in **construction cost control, quantity surveying, estimating, or commercial management**. * Proficiency in preparing **BOQs, cost estimates, cost plans, and quantity takeoffs**. * Strong understanding of **construction material pricing, labor rates, and subcontractor quotation analysis**. * Good knowledge of construction procurement procedures and vendor negotiations. * Comprehensive understanding of **construction contract conditions, contractual obligations, and commercial clauses**. * Experience assisting with main contracts and subcontract administration. * Strong knowledge of site measurement and valuation of completed works. * Ability to assess and price variations, change orders, and site instructions accurately. * Experience in project expenditure monitoring, cost forecasting, cash flow forecasting, and cost reconciliation. * Ability to prepare monthly commercial reports, final accounts, and claim assessments. * Proficiency in specialized **quantity takeoff and measurement software/tools** and other industry\-standard construction platforms. * **Advanced MS Excel skills** for cost modeling, data analysis, cost tracking, reporting, and financial dashboards. * Excellent ability to read, interpret, and cross\-reference **architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications** to derive accurate quantities. * Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem\-solving skills. * Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within project deadlines. Preferred Candidate * **Locally available in Bahrain**. * **Immediate joiner** preferred. * Candidates with strong **construction project experience** will be highly considered. * Experience with building, villa, commercial, or high\-rise construction projects is an advantage.
