Description

Summary: As a supervisor, you support and motivate participants to develop their employability and move toward self-sufficiency through meaningful work tasks. Highlights: 1. A varied and meaningful role with pedagogical support and coaching. 2. An opportunity to contribute to people's development and self-sufficiency. 3. A flexible environment focused on collaboration and development. Welcome to Alingsås! As an employee in our municipality, you have every opportunity to participate in developing both our operations and your workplace. With nearly 4,000 employees, we are large enough to drive change, yet small enough for each individual to influence and contribute their ideas. There is room here for innovative thinkers. Together, we create Alingsås! The Social Services Department’s Labour Market Unit (AME) has the primary task of supporting unemployed municipal residents in achieving sustainable self-sufficiency, through various means. AME works, among other things, on assignment from the Swedish Public Employment Service and the Support and Maintenance Unit within Social Services. Do you want a job where you can contribute daily to people’s growth, help them discover their abilities, and take steps closer to employment or studies? With us, you will have a varied and meaningful role combining practical work with pedagogical support, coaching, and relationship-building. Our activities offer participants opportunities to develop their employability through meaningful and individually adapted work tasks, enabling them to discover their strengths, build self-confidence, and develop the competencies required for the next step toward self-sufficiency—whether through employment or studies. We work together to create the best possible conditions for each individual. This means that we share collective responsibility for the entire operation and support one another wherever needs arise. As an employee with us, you therefore need to thrive in a flexible environment where collaboration, humility, and willingness to contribute to the whole are essential parts of everyday life. We are now seeking a supervisor for our activities. When you start with us, we offer you: * A secure employment contract * Opportunity for holiday exchange * Additional holiday days upon turning 40 * A professional development plan * Parental leave supplement * Health care allowance and favourable discounts via E\-passi * Bicycle benefit Warmly welcome to submit your application! **Job Responsibilities** ------------------- As a supervisor with us, you play an important role in creating structure, motivation, and development for participants within our practical activities. You work closely with individuals who have diverse circumstances and needs, supporting them in developing independence, taking responsibility, and enhancing employability. Supervision may occur within our own practical activities at Actus, in collaboration with other municipal activities, or at various external workplaces. You will primarily supervise participants in practical work tasks, for example in carpentry, reuse, and gardening. The role also entails providing support, as needed, in other areas of the operation—for instance in the kitchen or at external workplaces where participants are placed. For the operation to function optimally, all employees must contribute where needs arise. This means you must be flexible, humble, and see the bigger picture. You share collective responsibility with your colleagues to ensure all participants receive safe, high-quality, and developmental supervision during every work session, regardless of the work area. Through your daily presence, you support, motivate, and coach participants in planning, adapting, and carrying out work tasks. You help ensure each individual has the opportunity to develop according to their own circumstances and move closer to employment or self-sufficiency. Your duties also include: * Planning and organizing work tasks based on participants’ needs and the operation’s goals, * Adapting activities and work tasks to create opportunities for development and progression, * Collaborating with case workers and occupational therapists in mapping, assessing, and following up participants’ resources, barriers, and support needs, * Documenting participants’ development and progression, * Collaborating with colleagues, municipal operations, and external stakeholders, * Contributing to the development of the operation’s working methods and approaches. You will become part of an operation where we continuously develop our working methods, and where collaboration, solution-focused thinking, and participation are key elements of our work. **Qualifications** ------------------- We are looking for someone who has: * Relevant post-secondary education, preferably university or college level, * Experience working as a supervisor, team leader, or similar role within practical activities, * Experience in practical work—for example in construction, carpentry, property management, or service sectors, * Experience working with people with diverse needs and circumstances, * Driver’s license category B, * Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have: * Experience in work-oriented rehabilitation, * Knowledge and experience with resource-strengthening methods such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Brief Intervention and Prevention (BIP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), KUB, or visual support tools. To succeed in this role, you must be self-driven and take responsibility for planning, structuring, and advancing your work. You must be flexible and adapt easily to changing circumstances, seeing opportunities in development and new working methods. With strong pedagogical insight, you tailor your communication and support to each individual’s needs and circumstances. You also possess good collaborative skills and actively contribute to a positive, solution-focused cooperation with colleagues and partner organizations. Personal suitability will be given significant weight. Since our target group is broad—including aspects such as age, gender, and background—we value diversity within our staff group, reflecting the variety we encounter in our operations. **Additional Information** --------------------- To facilitate the recruitment process, we ask you to attach relevant certificates and transcripts for the position you are applying for, and—if invited to an interview—to be prepared to present valid identification, such as a passport or national ID card. If your application contains protected personal data, please DO NOT apply via the system; instead, contact the responsible recruiting manager for handling your application.
