***Responsibilities:*** * Assess and measure furniture pieces to determine the necessary materials and techniques for upholstery. * Select, cut, and sew fabrics or leather according to design specifications. * Remove old upholstery, padding, and springs, and replace them as needed. * Apply finishing techniques, such as tufting or piping, to enhance the look of the upholstered piece. * Collaborate with customers to understand their design preferences and provide recommendations. * Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and materials are safely stored. * Keep up\-to\-date with industry trends, techniques, and materials to improve skills and offerings. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to upholstery and customer requests. * Perform other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time. ***Requirements :*** * High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in upholstery or a related field is preferred. * 2\+ years of experience in upholstery or a related craft, with a portfolio showcasing previous work. * Has knowledge in reading drawings and making patterns. * Has knowledge in finishing work as per drawings and specifications. * Has knowledge in material follow\-up and handling. * Has knowledge in operating required machines independently. * Has knowledge in taking accurate site measurements. * Has knowledge in making jigs for fast and efficient output. * Has knowledge in guiding other upholsterers in padding, cutting, and stitching. * Has knowledge in cutting, stitching, padding, and upholstery structures. * Has knowledge in maintaining a strong sense of responsibility and workmanship.
