Leadership role within an expanding distribution network About the Role Mesnard Distribution is seeking an experienced and logistics\-driven Fleet Operations Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and routing of our commercial transport fleet. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and cost\-effective distribution operations while maintaining full regulatory compliance and fleet reliability. Key Responsibilities * Fleet Management \& Utilization: Oversee daily fleet scheduling, vehicle allocation, route optimization, and driver assignments to maximize delivery efficiency. * Maintenance \& Asset Reliability: Develop and enforce preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime, reduce repair costs, and ensure vehicle safety. * Driver Leadership \& Safety: Recruit, train, and manage commercial drivers; ensure strict compliance with road safety standards, driving hours, and company policies. * Cost \& Performance Tracking: Monitor key metrics including fuel consumption, maintenance spend, turn\-times, and delivery accuracy to hit operational targets. * Compliance \& Legal: Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with transport regulations, licensing, permits, inspections, and insurance requirements. Requirements * Experience: 5\+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics operations, or transport management within a distribution or supply chain setting. * Systems Expertise: Hands\-on experience with Telematics, Fleet Management Systems (FMS), Route Optimization software, and GPS tracking tools. * Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of fleet maintenance, DOT/transport compliance laws, driver safety protocols, and route planning. * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent operational experience.
