




Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Accountant with strong project and team management skills to join our construction and interior design company. The ideal candidate will oversee the company’s full accounting cycle—covering project cost control, financial reporting, and team coordination—to ensure transparency, compliance, and profitability across multiple ongoing projects. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial & Accounting Management Maintain accurate financial records including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and project costing. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards. Handle VAT computation, submission, and reconciliation according to Bahrain regulations. Manage cash flow forecasting and monitor bank reconciliations. Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities. 2. Project Accounting & Cost Control Monitor budgets, track project expenditures, and report cost variances against approved budgets. Work closely with project managers to prepare progress billing, verify subcontractor invoices, and ensure timely payments. Maintain project-based profitability reports and highlight potential cost overruns or savings. Ensure accurate allocation of materials, labor, and overhead to specific projects. 3. Team & Process Management Supervise junior accountants and site admin staff in maintaining project documentation and petty cash records. Implement and enforce accounting systems, policies, and internal controls. Support management with financial insights for decision-making, tender pricing, and project forecasting. Foster collaboration between finance, procurement, and project departments to streamline operations. 4. Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly management reports including project performance, cash flow, and profitability summaries. Develop dashboards and cost-tracking systems for management visibility. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis for new bids, proposals, and investment evaluations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA certification is a plus). Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting within the construction, joinery, or interior design industry. Strong knowledge of project-based accounting, cost allocation, and ERP/QuickBooks/Tally systems. Excellent understanding of Bahrain VAT and financial compliance standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills. Personal Attributes Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Able to manage and mentor a small finance team. High integrity, reliability, and accountability.
