Summary: Supports the culinary team in daily kitchen operations, including preparation, cleaning, and organization, while adhering to food safety and hygiene standards and developing culinary skills. Assists in meal preparation and presentation **Main Objectives** Responsible for supporting the culinary team in the daily preparation, cleaning, and organization of the kitchen, assisting with meal preparation and ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards while learning and developing culinary skills. **Main Duties** o Assists in the preparation and organization of ingredients for meals, ensuring that all items are ready and available for the cooking team to follow to a safe and hygienic environment and ensuring that all equipment is ready for use during meal preparation. o Assists in the storage of raw materials and finished products, following proper storage guidelines to maintain product quality and minimize waste. o Prepares and arranges ingredients for cooking or baking under the supervision of senior kitchen staff, ensuring proper portioning and preparation in line with menu requirements. o Helps with the plating and presentation of meals, ensuring that dishes meet the aesthetic standards of the culinary department and are presented attractively for service. o Utilizes strong computer skills to support the culinary team by creating reports and documents, as well as assisting in data gathering and analysis through efficient organization of information. o Follows food safety and hygiene regulations at all times, including maintaining personal cleanliness and cleanliness of the kitchen area, to ensure safe food preparation and handling. o Assists in managing stock levels of kitchen supplies, including checking stock quantities and reporting shortages to senior staff, ensuring smooth kitchen operations. o Supports senior culinary staff with other kitchen tasks as needed, helping to maintain a team\-oriented environment and contributing to the overall efficiency of the kitchen. o Comply with Company's and airport authorities’ health, safety \& security requirements. Carries out other similar or related duties as directed by the management. **Work Contacts** **Internal:** With team members and other department up to managerial level. **External:** Suppliers. **IndependenceOf Operation** Works according to established procedures, general policies, special directives and specialized catering standards. Refers to the department head about matters related to major expenditure and service problems beyond his capacity. **Supervisory Responsibility** None. **Safety \& Security Responsibility / Accountability** Security responsibility and accountability, has direct coordination with the Aviation Security \& Safety department in compliance with the established Security Management System of the company. This includes reporting of unauthorized access (intrusion), unauthorized use of company equipment/properties and any form of pilferage including any act that is against the company’s security policy. Safety responsibility and accountability includes direct coordination with the Ramp Safety \& ERP section for any investigation relating to safety and security. Responding to emergency situations as per the company’s established Emergency Response Plan, BCAA and BAC. **Physical Effort** Lifting and carrying food ingredients, standing for extended periods. **Work Environment** Normally air\-conditioned environment but will be exposed to cold and/or warm temperatures temperature in the kitchen and catering facilities in addition to cooking fumes. **Minimum Requirements** **Education:** Minimum High school Diploma; culinary training or related coursework is preferred. **Experience:** No prior experience required, though any kitchen experience is a plus. **Other Essential Requirements:** o Great in written/spoken English. o Basic knowledge of food safety standards. o Ability to work in a fast\-paced environment. o Strong teamwork skills. o Willingness to learn and assist with various kitchen tasks.
