Strong focus on construction-specific purchasing Job Description We are looking for an experienced **Construction Purchaser** to manage the purchasing and procurement of construction materials, equipment, tools, and project requirements. The ideal candidate should have a **strong background in construction purchasing**, good knowledge of the Bahrain supplier market, and proven experience coordinating with suppliers, site teams, stores, accounts, and project management. Construction procurement roles commonly involve sourcing materials, comparing quotations, negotiating prices, issuing POs, and tracking deliveries against project schedules. Key Responsibilities * Source and purchase **construction materials, equipment, tools, and consumables**. * Obtain and compare quotations from local and GCC suppliers. * Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements. * Prepare and issue **Purchase Orders (POs)** and purchase requests. * Coordinate closely with **Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors, Stores, and Accounts**. * Ensure materials are procured according to approved specifications and project requirements. * Follow up with suppliers to ensure **timely delivery to construction sites**. * Monitor material requirements based on project schedules and site demands. * Maintain updated supplier databases, price lists, quotations, POs, invoices, and delivery records. * Prepare comparative statements and procurement reports. * Verify delivered materials against purchase orders and delivery notes. * Identify alternative suppliers and cost\-saving opportunities. * Develop and maintain good relationships with local suppliers. * Coordinate with the site team regarding urgent and critical material requirements. * Ensure procurement activities follow company policies and project procedures. Requirements * **Minimum 3–5 years of experience** as a Purchaser/Procurement Officer in the **construction industry**. * Strong knowledge of **construction materials, tools, equipment, and building products**. * Experience dealing with **Bahrain\-based suppliers and contractors** is highly preferred. * Good understanding of construction project requirements and site operations. * Strong negotiation and supplier\-management skills. * Experience preparing **RFQs, quotation comparisons, purchase orders, and procurement reports**. * Proficient in **Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook**. * Experience with ERP/procurement systems is an advantage. * Good communication and coordination skills. * Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple urgent requirements. * **GCC experience is preferred.** * **Must be currently located in Bahrain.** * **Must be available for immediate joining.** * Candidates with **cancelled/transferable visa or valid local status** are preferred. Preferred Candidate We are looking for someone with **actual construction purchasing experience**, rather than a general office/administrative purchaser.
